Pitching By Strickland Shuts Out Elder, Moeller Takes The Win

Austin Strickland didn't allow a single run as the Moeller Crusaders defeated Elder 9-0 in GCL South action on Monday. Strickland allowed just four hits.

The Crusaders secured the victory thanks to six runs in the fifth inning. Moeller Crusaders Varsity's offense in the inning came from doubles by Michael O'Callaghan, John Codner, and Bryce Davenport and singles by Quinton Morris and Parker Allen.

Moeller got on the board in the second inning. An error scored one run for the Crusaders.

One bright spot for Elder was a single by Sandhas in the second inning.

Strickland got the win for Moeller, allowing four hits and no runs over seven innings, striking out nine and walking zero.

Kyle Klingenbeck took the loss for Elder. He lasted two and a third innings, allowing one hit and one run while striking out three.

Moeller Crusaders Varsity racked up ten hits on the day. Eric Bronner and Allen had two hits to lead the Crusaders. Moeller was sure-handed in the field and didn't commit a single error. Morris had the most chances in the field with nine.
