Brian Milne- Freshman Offensive Line Coach
Brian Milne is entering his 2nd season with the Crusaders freshman team as the offensive line coach. Brian is native of Erie, Pennsylvania, where he played football at Fort Le Boeuf High School. During his junior season, Milne rushed for 2,437 yards and 31 touchdowns in 10 games. Following his graduation Milne went on to Penn State University on a football scholarship, but was unable to play due to his battle with Hodgkin’s disease and months of chemotherapy. His sophomore year, Milne was part of the Nittany Lions team that went 12-0 and won the 1995 Rose Bowl game over Oregon to finish second in the national rankings.
Following his career at Penn State, Milne was drafted by the Indianapolis Colts in the 1996 NFL draft, but was waived by the team. He was picked up by the Cincinnati Bengals and started at fullback for 3 years blocking for the likes of Corey Dillon, Garrison Heart and Ki-Jana Carter. Following his stint with the Bengals, Milne went to play for the Seattle Seahawks and coach Mike Holmgren. After his year with Seattle, Milne was signed by the New Orleans Saints in 2000. He led the Saints to their first every playoff win in franchise history by recovering a fumble with less than 2 minutes to go against the St. Louis Rams to seal the victory.
Milne retired from the NFL following the 2000 season and has been a youth football coach for the last 18 years.
